BATON ROUGE - Police arrested the mother of an infant girl who drowned in a bathtub in suspicion of negligent homicide.

Sgt. Don Kelly said Lashay Bradley, 22, left her 11-month-old daughter unattended in a bathtub with the water running for an unknown amount of time.

When she returned, the child had apparently slipped under the water and was unresponsive. The girl was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

Bradley was booked into the parish jail in suspicion of negligent homicide.
