More than 1,000 without power in WBR
PORT ALLEN - Power outages popped up across the area during heavy storms that moved through south Louisiana Friday.
Utility companies said they had just returned power to more than 1,000 people in Port Allen when lightning caused more than thousand more to lose power in Addis.
Entergy reported around 1,300 people in West Baton Rouge Parish were without power at the height of the outages. Lights were back on by 1 p.m.
Near Brusly, over 300 people were also without power due to downed lines from storms around 11 a.m. Entergy said power was back on in there after approximately two hours.
Plaquemines Parish was also hit with power outages. Entergy reported 1,400 customers were without electricity there.
More than 750 people in East Baton Rouge Parish lost power, many of them concentrated in a DEMCO-served area around Port Hudson Plains Road near Zachary.
