More than 1,700 lose power after truck hits utility pole
BATON ROUGE - Utility officials reported more than 1,700 people lost power in East Baton Rouge after a truck hit a utility pole Monday afternoon.
The wreck happened in the 11000 block of South Choctaw, which is in the northeast portion of the parish.
The outage appeared to affect a portion of the city-parish bordered by South Choctaw, North Sherwood Forest and Florida Boulevard.
Entergy estimated on their website that the power would be back on before 5 p.m.
