More signatures gathered to make Watson a city
WATSON- Organizers of a drive to incorporate this unincorporated area of Livingston Parish told people who gathered to hear an update on the campaign Monday night, canvassers have gathered half of the required signatures to get the issue on a ballot.
The effort, which failed 15 years ago, is being spearheaded by a surge in business activity in the area. People who live in the boundaries of the proposed city limits want a say in their future.
"This is an American right, so bring this to a vote... Let the citizens have the final say," Neighbors in Action member Gene Baker said.
Organizers believe Watson could be the largest city in Livingston Parish if it incorporates.
