More road closures in Ascension Parish

UPDATE: More than 30 roads/intersections are now closed in Ascension Parish due to high water.

Parish work crews were working to mitigate flooding on roadways as well as to try to prepare for further rainfall.

Sand for sand bags are available at DPW headquarters on Churchpoint Road in Gonzales and at the DPW office in Donaldsonville.  The parish's pumping stations in Sorrento and at McElroy are both running at full capacity.
