The ridge of high pressure that has been sitting over us the last few days will start to break down and moves to the west today. This will allow for some extra Gulf Moisture to stream up over Louisiana. That will help us to get a slightly better chance of seeing some rain today. I'm only expecting a few storms (20% chance) at best, but that is better than we've had all week. Therefore, we will be partly cloudy and very hot with those isolated storms. High temperatures will remain in the mid 90s. The heat index will be around 105°. The NWS will continue the Heat Advisory until 7 PM today due to the oppressive heat and only a few storms.
Any rain that pops-up will dissipate by 10 PM and then we will be left with partly cloudy skies overnight. Low temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s.
