The owners of two Baton Rouge area medical supply companies have been granted pretrial release.

Veronica Green is the owner of AYS Medical Supplies. She is accused of filing millions in false claims for things such as power wheelchairs and knee braces.

Liberty Medical Services owner Benjamin Amadi pleaded guilty to the charges against him. His charges are similar to Green's. Officials in federal court say a total of 20 defendants are scheduled to have hearings between Thursday and Friday.

Green and Amadi are part of a $32 million Medicare fraud takedown by federal agents. The scope of the investigation includes doctors, medical supply companies and home health services.
