BAYOU CORNE- The state fined the Texas-based company blamed for a sinkhole in Assumption Parish $160,000 for failing to comply with clean-up requirements.

But, Texas Brine disputes the claims. The company said it has been acting - and working- in good faith to meet requirements set by the state.

Since the beginning of December, Texas Brine has been fined $260,000 in connection with the on-going issues at the sinkhole site.

A community meeting is set for Tuesday evening to discuss the latest events.
