More details released on Common Core results
NEW ORLEANS - The Zachary Community School District led the state in the percentage of its students achieving "mastery" of subject matter in Common Core-aligned tests given last spring.
The figures released Thursday also show that the Assumption Parish School District has made the greatest performance gains compared to other Louisiana districts.
The district results are from tests based on the multi-state Common Core standards.
Scores and letter grades for individual high schools are to be released next week. Individual students learn their results between Nov. 9 and Nov. 13.
Thursday's release follows last week's release of statewide results showing that, overall, the percentage of students who show what state officials currently consider "mastery" of their subject matter is low, ranging from 22 to 40 percent, depending on grade and subject matter.
