MONROE- Monroe Regional Airport is moving forward on rehabilitating runways with the help of grants from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
The News-Star reports the Monroe City Council on Tuesday accepted $1.5 million in grants to rehabilitate six taxiways.
The council then voted to enter into an agreement with Ardaman and Associates to test the materials that will be used to overlay the taxiways.
Interim airport manager Ron Phillips said the project has been needed for quite some time.
