Mom issued summons, man arrested as child rape case expands
BATON ROUGE- The mother of a 12-year-old who was repeatedly raped by a group of men will appear before a judge as the case involving her daughter expands.
Deputies said Friday evening, the victim's mother was issued a summons for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and a seventh person faces more heinous charges in relation to repeated attacks on the child that have been occurring for almost a year..
Jerome Jackson was arrested in Port Allen on aggravated rape charges filed in East Baton Rouge.
Deputies believe Jackson raped the child when she was with the mother's boyfriend, Ivy Martin, one of six men charged in the case. Another woman was also arrested, accused of raping the 12-year-old.
Deputies are not releasing the name of the victim's mother in an effort to protect the identity of the child.
Detectives say the investigation is still ongoing and other arrests may be pending.
