NEW ORLEANS - A 24-year-old New Orleans woman was arrested on child neglect charges after police said firefighters had to use CPR to revive twin 6-year-old girls left alone in a home that caught fire over the weekend.
According to investigators, firefighters found the two girls hiding -- one in a bedroom closet and one in a bathroom -- and unresponsive.
The girls were taken outside and revived with CPR.
Police said the children's mother, Monrovia Brown, arrived on the scene after the girls had been transported to University Hospital. She was arrested and booked with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile based on neglect.
Investigators said Brown had left the children home alone while she went to work.
It was unclear whether Brown has an attorney.
