Mixed bag for local tax elections
GREENSBURG- Voters in St. Helena Parish were the only ones to deny a tax in a Saturday election.
The tax would have funded the sheriff's office. It failed 65% to 35%. Just shy of 2000 people voted in the election.
Voters in Livingston and Iberville Parishes approved tax items there.
Also, voters in East Baton Rouge approved a tax renewal for BREC parks.
