Mississippi State tries ending skid vs. No. 8 LSU
STARKVILLE, MS - Mississippi State's history against LSU during the past two decades is ugly.
The Bulldogs have lost 14 in a row in the series dating back to 1999 and 21 of 22 since the Southeastern Conference split into two divisions in 1992.
The dubious stretch has featured a few close losses and even more embarrassing blowouts. Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen says none of them will be relevant when the Bulldogs (3-0) travel to face No. 8 LSU (3-0) on Saturday at Tiger Stadium.
A win against LSU wouldn't just end a lengthy losing streak. It would also prove that Mullen's program can hang with the Western Division's elite teams.
Mullen has a 1-16 combined record in his six-year tenure against Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M.
