Mississippi sent insurance plan to feds
Despite being discouraged not to, Mississippi insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney sent the state's plan for an insurance exchange to the federal government as required by the Affordable Health Care Act, or Obamacare. Chaney has steadily worked to create the plan of an online marketplace for people to buy insurance despite pressure from Governor Phil Bryant to abandon it. States face a deadline of Friday to submit their plan or the federal government would set up the exchange for them. Louisiana sent a letter to the feds on Wednesday saying it will not set up an insurance exchange.
