Mississippi man dies in Tangipahoa Parish collision
TANGIPAHOA - Authorities say a 40-year-old Mississippi man died in a two-vehicle accident involving an 18-wheeler at the intersection of La. Highway 1057 and Highway 1061.
Louisiana State Police Sgt. Nick Manale says the big rig slammed into the side of a pickup that did not yield when turning left at the intersection at about 3 p.m. Tuesday. The impact of the collision pushed both vehicles about 200 feet from the intersection.
Manale says the passenger in the pickup, 40-year-old Marcus Ingram, of Tupelo, Mississippi, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner's Office. He says the driver of the pickup, 29-year-old Mark Konzelman, of Osyka, Mississippi, suffered moderate injuries.
Manale says the driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
