OXFORD, Miss. - Mississippi coach Hugh Freeze said his defense made too many foolish mistakes in last weekend's lopsided 66-31 loss to Texas.
There were also times the bigger, stronger and faster Longhorns simply manhandled the smaller Rebels. And so it goes for Freeze, the first-year Ole Miss coach who is trying to win games with a roster that is admittedly short on talent.
The Rebels (2-1) travel to face Tulane (0-2) on Saturday in New Orleans for one final non-conference game before Southeastern Conference play begins.
Freeze knows the hard truth: Those SEC opponents are going to be a whole lot like Texas.
