Missing LSU student mourned after deadly wreck
BATON ROUGE - Family and friends gathered today to lay Chris Broussard to rest after the LSU student was reported missing last week, then found in his overturned pickup south of Baton Rouge.
Funeral services start at 11:30 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Baton Rouge with burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens.
Broussard's family reported the LSU senior missing after his mother said he never returned from a night out with friends. He was last seen leaving a bar in his pickup early Tuesday morning.
A police helicopter located the missing truck overturned in a ditch Wednesday, and confirmed Broussard was found dead inside.
Investigators said he died from injuries sustained in the wreck, and are still waiting for toxicology screens to come back.
News 2's Rob Krieger will have more on the memorial service tonight at 6 p.m.
