Missing hospital patient dead in stairwell
SAN FRANCISCO- A patient who wandered away from her room was found dead two-weeks later in a stairwell at San Francisco General Hospital.
Lynne Spaulding was being treated for an infection when she vanished Sept. 21.
Investigators say they don't know how she ended up in the stairwell or how she died.
Spaulding was 57-years-old and a native of England.
The exterior stairwell where she was found is used an a fire exit.
Friends says Spaulding was very thin and frail and was on medication and may have been confused.
She was last seen two days after she was admitted.
A missing persons report was filed with police after she vanished.
