Missing church gargoyles
WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS- A church is a crime scene after religious leaders and preservationists try to figure out what happened to some 3,000 ton gargoyles.
The Assembly of God church is a one-fifth scale replica of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and was built in the 1890's. It was for sale for $2.5 million after it was saved from demolition with the help of Preservation Worcester.
The gargoyles were removed by a construction crew for safety reasons but that company went out of business.
Now there's fear the gargoyles were sold at auction to pay the construction company bills, but no one really knows.
