Miss Teen USA contestants visit OLOL patients
BATON ROUGE - Today, Miss Teen USA contestants spent their time creating beauty crowns and friendship bracelets with the children at Our Lady of the Lake.
The contestants were in Baton Rouge to cheer on their counterparts at the Miss USA pageant this weekend.
The teen contestants also passed out books donated by Barnes and Noble. Madison McKeown, Miss Teen South Dakota, said experiences like this one are very rewarding.
"It really makes you appreciate and seeing these kids, seeing their smiles really makes you take a step back. And we are so fortunate for our health and for what we have and it is a great experience to play with them and make them crowns. It's fun and I love seeing their smiles," McKeown.
The Miss Teen USA competition is in August, in the Bahamas.
