Mills, Harris move to 'veterans' practice

BATON ROUGE - LSU head coach Les Miles made it clear to media members Monday evening.

Freshman participating in the "veterans" morning practice didn't necessarily mean those selected few were on a fast track to significant playing time this fall.

Even so, it does give a glimpse of how a certain set of players might look on Saturday nights inside Tiger Stadium.

Tuesday's example of this was freshman Brandon Harris effortlessly spinning the football to wideout, and fellow freshman, Malachi Dupre.

Does this mean anything in particular?

Is this a sign of things to come in the fall?

If you ask Miles, which we did, no. And no.

However, it was a sight that drew a large contingent of the media members in attendance.

These were the first few (official) glimpses into the hard work this highly-touted freshman class would have to use to get better, to mature, to show us the future of LSU football.

"It took us way too long to get that [drill] right," bellowed offensive coordinator Cam Cameron. "Let's go, let's pick it up!"

To "play like Tigers," there's still plenty of fine-tuning to endure under Cameron and, of course, the eager eye of LSU fans.

Junior defensive back Jalen Mills was also at practice Tuesday morning, having a second-degree battery charge reduced to a misdemeanor. Mills also practice in the Monday afternoon practice session.
