BATON ROUGE - While nobody in Louisiana won the big Powerball jackpot last night, there were several other cash prizes handed out.
The state lottery office said more than 171,000 Powerball players won more than $2.1 million in the drawing, including one ticket worth $1 million.
Lottery spokesperson Kelly Spell said the $250,000 Lotto Jackpot and $179,375 Easy 5 jackpots were also both won last night.
Louisiana's $1 million-winning Powerball ticket was purchased at a Winn Dixie in Slidell, matching all five white ball numbers but missing the red Powerball number. The store will receive a bonus of $10,000, which is one percent of the prize, for selling the ticket.
There was a $40,000 winning Powerball with Power Play ticket purchased in Shreveport, matching four of the white ball numbers and the red Powerball number. A dozen other tickets won $10,000 for the same combination, but didn't have Power Play.
One of those $10,000 Powerball tickets and the $250,000 Lotto prize were both purchased in Baton Rouge.
Players should sign the back of their ticket immediately after purchasing for security purposes and treat their tickets like cash. After the drawing, winners have 180 days to claim their prizes.
