Million-dollar winners in Louisiana after Powerball drawing
NEW ROADS - Though nobody hit the $500 million Powerball jackpot Wednesday night, two people who bought tickets in the capital area won some big money.
A ticket sold at a New Roads gas station won $1 million in the overnight drawing, according to Louisiana lottery officials. A second $1 million ticket was sold in New Iberia.
Both tickets matched all five regular numbers in the drawing but missed the Powerball. Nobody has stepped forward to claim either prize before noon, according to the state lottery commission.
The stores that sold the winning tickets will each receive one percent of the Match 5 prize, which comes to $10,000.
