Milldale Road Bridge closure has some frustrated
ZACHARY - The closure of the Milldale Road bridge has some residents boiling in frustration.
"I've done had it," Andrew Theriot told News 2 Thursday, after he was asked about the bridge being closed for two years.
A state inspection in 2013 revealed rotting pilings supporting the bridge, which prompted East Baton Rouge Parish to shut it down. The parish said work on a new bridge should begin in about three months, but some people aren't convinced.
"I say 'bull,' because they've been promising for two years they were going to get in on this thing," Theriot said.
According to the EBR Department of Public Works construction should take about five months to complete once it gets underway.
