Military aircraft grounded
PENSACOLA NAVAL AIR STATION- The U.S. Navy canceled the remainder of the vaunted Blue Angels 2013 season and the Air Force grounded about a third of its combat forces due to federal budget cuts.
The Blue Angels have performed at various air shows for more than 60 years and even the practice flights that are popular in the beach areas of Pensacola, Florida, are scrapped.
The Navy says the team will fly minimum hours to maintain flight proficiency.
The Air Force groundings affect active duty aircraft, including squadrons of fighters, bombers and airborne warning and control aircraft.
