BATON ROUGE- An excited Les Miles confirmed he's staying in South Louisiana as head coach of one of the best college football program's in the country.
"This Miles family is awful comfortable in South Louisiana," Miles said during a news conference to announce a contract extension and pay increase.
But, Miles would not elaborate on what he's being paid.
"It's embarrassing for me to talk about money... So I don't," Miles said. Miles' previous contract paid him $3.75 million annually.
When asked about the size of his paycheck, Miles responded: "I'm fortunate to have an occupation that pays tremendous market value."
Miles' contract was set to expire in 2017; LSU said it has locked him for seven years, adding two years to the contract.
But, Miles didn't hold back about the program he's been able to make more successful. "What I want to do is win championships here," Miles said.
Finally, about 20 minutes into Wednesday's news conferences Miles was ready to talk shop. He said, "Now, I'd like to talk a little about our football team."
