Miles dismisses Lealaimatafao from LSU football team
BATON ROUGE - Defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao has been dismissed from the LSU football team, according to an announcement from head coach Les Miles on Monday.
The dismissal of the 18-year-old Lealaimatafao is related to an off-campus incident that happened two weeks ago.
"Trey is no longer a member of our football team," Miles said. "We have gathered information on this incident and we feel it's best for us to part ways."
Lealaimatafao was a redshirted freshman last season for the Tigers. Miles had no further comment on the matter at this time.
Earlier in June, three LSU players were suspended in connection with an on-campus incident where electronics and other items were stolen. In a separate incident, Lealaimatafao was arrested on simple battery and simple robbery charges.
