Miles describes coaching through personal sorrow
BATON ROUGE - Les Miles has faced many difficult opponents, but he fought through adversity of a much different, and much more personal kind on Friday night.
Miles got the news that his 91 year-old mother Martha passed away Friday, the night before his Tigers were going to square off against #3 Ole Miss in Tiger Stadium.
After LSU's win, Miles told the media that he carefully considered how he would present the news to his players and how he wanted them to approach the game in spite of the news.
As in so many close games, Miles was able to persevere through a very difficult time.
