Michael Marsh - Anchor 5, 6 & 10 p.m.

Michael Marsh rejoined the WBRZ team in August of 2005.  He is the co-anchor of the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. News.  From 1977 to 1982, Michael served as both a reporter and a weekend anchor at the station, and Michael previously anchored the weekend newscasts after returning to WBRZ in August.

Michael was born in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from LSU.  With 34 years of broadcast experience, he has worked at many stations: KPIX-TV in San Francisco, KMGH-TV in Denver, WSB-TV in Atlanta, WBTV in Charlotte, and WDSU-TV in New Orleans. Immediately prior to rejoining the WBRZ team, Michael served as the co-anchor at 5pm, 6pm, and 10 pm for WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois.

Michael has received numerous newscast awards, including the UPI Award for Economics Reporting.

“Michael brings decades of journalistic experience from around the nation and right here in Louisiana.  He’s covered the folks in our area, knows Louisiana and lives in Baton Rouge.  It’s truly a homecoming,” said WBRZ Director of News Chuck Bark.

Michael now resides in Baton Rouge with his wife. When Michael is not working, he enjoys reading about history, playing golf, and gardening.  He’s also an avid sports fan, especially any sports involving LSU.
