Metro Council member discusses honoring Trevor Sims
BATON ROUGE - The 11-year-old boy who died of cancer last month and touched so many lives now might have a sturdier legacy for his memory to live on.
East Baton Rouge Parish Councilwoman Tara Wicker said the Metro Council will vote whether to rename the North Boulevard Bridge to the Trevor Sims Memorial Bridge.
Wicker said the interesting thing about renaming the bridge is that the St. Vincent de Paul dining facility for the homeless is right next to it. Feeding the hungry was Trevor's final mission, since he didn't want anyone to go hungry like he said he and his family once did.
