Metro Airport traffic hits three-year high
BATON ROUGE - More passengers flew in and out of the Baton Rouge Metro Airport last year than in any of the past three years, with over 809,000 total passengers using the airport.
The airport says it had 404,735 passengers boarding flights and 405,116 disembarking flights in 2011. The total represented a 4 percent increase over the previous year.
December's passenger count was 66,873 passengers, a 4.5 percent increase from the previous year.
Delta Air Lines had the highest market share of passengers from the airport at 38 percent of traffic, followed by United/Continental, American Airlines and US Airways.
