BATON ROUGE - Coupon website, BigTip.com, continues to create problems for area businesses by offering coupons those businesses say they never agreed to.

BigTip says by entering into agreement with Entertainment Publications, one if its partners, businesses are contractually bound to let them offer deals through their website.

Kristen Manske, a manager of Varsity Sports, says she did sign a contract with Entertainment years ago, yet is still listed on BigTip.

"I don't remember signing another contract probably within the last three years," said Manske.

In the fine print on Entertainment's Privacy Policy it says that Entertainment has the right to distribute information to third parties.

"I think it's very confusing, the way it reads," said Manske. "You're giving your information to Entertainment Book, but you don't know who they're giving it to."

Two weeks ago, WBRZ was told there might not be a contract between Entertainment and BigTip.

"Entertainment was not satisfied with the practices conducted by the site, which was reason for termination of the agreement," said Entertainment spokesperson Bill Daddi.

Last week, WBRZ received a letter from Entertainment CEO Melissa Fisher saying "Entertainment and BigTip have had an existing contractual agreement since 2011."

It's an agreement that doesn't last much longer. In an email from Daddi, the agreement expires Jan. 6, 2013.
