Men's Basketball to kick off homestand against Auburn
BATON ROUGE - The LSU men's basketball team is kicking off a rare stretch of three home games in six days, a rarity in the Southeastern Conference, with their first chance to take advantage of the PMAC-based contests coming up Thursday night against Auburn at 6 p.m.
LSU rolls into the Tigers vs. Tigers matchup at 16-5 and 5-3 in SEC play, and a Thursday night win could move them into either a tie for second or third depending on the results of Wednesday's game. The Auburn Tigers are struggling to get back to .500 with an overall record of 10-11 and 2-6 in league play.
LSU fell to Mississippi State last Saturday by a score of 67-73, and Auburn have dropped four straight, the last to the Tennessee by a score of 71-63 in favor of the Vols.
An LSU homestand such as the one the Tigers are entering on Thursday hasn't been in the cards in Baton Rouge since 1998 when LSU played four straight home games, according to LSUSports.net. In addition to Auburn, LSU will take on Alabama on Saturday and top-ranked Kentucky on Tuesday during their stint of Pete Maravich Assembly Center-based games.
Tickets for the Auburn game are still available on LSUtix.net and all day Thursday at the LSU Athletics Ticket Office. Tickets will be available at the Maravich Center upper concourse ticket windows starting at 4:30 p.m. LSU students with valid student ID will be admitted free based on available seating.
