Memorial service held for bank hostages
ST. JOSEPH - People gathered at the site of a deadly hostage standoff in Tensas Parish tonight to remember the two bank workers who died after being shot by their captor last week.
The memorial prayer service happened one week after State Police said 20-year-old Fuaed Abdo Ahmed walked into the bank and took three people hostage.
During negotiations Ahmed released one of the hostages, but he shot LaDean McDaniel and Jay Warbington when police stormed the bank. He was in turn shot and killed by police.
State Police Superintendent Mike Edmonson was one of the evening's scheduled speakers.
