Memorial Day traffic trouble continues
BATON ROUGE - Interstate traffic through Baton Rouge continued to pile up behind the Mississippi River Bridge through the lunch hour.
The Department of Transportation and Development said congestion on I-10 West was back from the bridge all the way past Essen Lane just after 1 p.m.
The westbound side of the interstate was closed early Monday morning after a vehicle overturned, causing minor injuries according to the Louisiana State Police. The interstate was fully opened before noon, but the congestion remained.
Afternoon showers also cause potentially-hazardous driving conditions during the noon hour.
