Melancon hits Vitter on fiscal policy
Democratic Senate candidate Charlie Melancon is blasting Republican Senator David Vitter on fiscal policy and Vitter's votes for several Bush-era spending measures.
Melancon says Vitter hasn't always been such a fiscal watchdog.
He says Vitter repeatedly voted for deficit spending when former President George W. Bush was in office.
Melancon is challenging Vitter's bid for a second term in the November 2 election.
