U.S. Rep. Charlie Melancon applauded the Louisiana attorney general's decision to sue companies that made and installed Chinese drywall linked to corrosion and possible health problems.
On Wednesday, Louisiana Attorney General James D. "Buddy" Caldwell filed a suit against a slew of companies.
Caldwell said the suit would help the state cover the costs caused by the allegedly defective drywall.
Caldwell said the state has lost tax revenues and faces high medical and disposal costs.
