Mega Bus gets iced in at Baton Rouge stop
BATON ROUGE - Mega Bus gets stuck in Baton Rouge for hours on its way to Houston.
More than 60 Mega Bus passengers got stuck in Baton Rouge as they waited for the ice to melt on the interstate.
"Everybody was hoping that with what little bit that the south has to deal with this weather it would have been enough to keep the road open but nature didn't play with us so here we are," said the bus operator.
After about three hours waiting downtown, the bus got orders to turn around and head back to New Orleans. Many riders decided to stay in Baton Rouge and try to catch another bus in the morning.
"I was going to fly originally but the airports were closed so I booked this at the last minute and so this is what happens but usually this is a nice trip when I ride mega bus, it's been a good experience, it's not their fault," said Gabriel George, traveling originally from Atlanta.
The next bus is scheduled to leave New Orleans at 7:30 a.m. Check the website for updates.
