Meeting on restoring coastal marshes
NEW ORLEANS - The Army Corps of Engineers the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority plan a public meeting Wednesday on the Louisiana Coastal Area-Mississippi River Hydrodynamic and Delta Management Study.
The study began in August 2011 and focuses on using freshwater and nutrients from the Mississippi River to restore coastal marshes.
A technical session is planned for 12:30-5 p.m. A public presentation on the status of the study and a question-and-answer session will run from 6:30-8 p.m.
Both will be at the Lindy C. Boggs International Conference Center at the University of New Orleans.
The technical session features presentations on various models and tools that the team is using to conduct the study.
