Medicaid money threatened
Millions of dollars in Medicaid money for Louisiana may be removed from health care reform legislation in the Senate.
Senator Tom Coburn, of Oklahoma, introduced an amendment Wednesday to strip a provision in the bill that would send $100 million to Louisiana. Critics say the money was included in the bill to convince Senator Mary Landrieu to approve the legislation.
Landrieu's office called the move a "political stunt."
The state's Medicaid program is anticipating a deficit unless the money comes through.
