Medical helicopter crashes in Shreveport
SHREVEPORT - A helicopter crashed during a test flight near the Shreveport Downtown Airport. Three people were on board the chopper and suffered minor injuries.
Angie Willhite of the Shreveport Police said after takeoff the Life Air crew had mechanical problems which led to the crash that was called in at 12:49 p.m. The crash was near the Metro Aviation's headquarters that owned the aircraft and rents it out to Life Air Rescue.
Fire Chief Louis Johnson said the pilot and the two mechanics were taken to a local hospital for their minor injuries.
The Federal Aviation Administration and Metro aviation are investigating the crash.
