Mediation in toxic tea case
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH- A woman who nearly died from drinking iced tea laced with a toxic chemical at a restaurant will enter into mediation with the business instead of filing a lawsuit.
The County Attorney also says no charges will be filed in the incident since authorities found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing. The lawyer for Jan harding says she and her family respect the decision.
The incident happened at a Dickey's Barbecue and Dickey's says the restaurant chain has instituted policies and procedures so it doesn't happen again.
Harding drank tea laced with a cleaning solvent that contained lye.
The mediation will be in November and the sides will try to decide how much money she should receive.
