Meals on wheels in Baton Rouge says the state budget crisis could put the program in jeopardy.

Last week Governor Jindal denied a $140,000 grant for the agency.

To help keep the service running employees are donating an hour-of pay from their paychecks. The program, which is a department of the Council on Aging, serves more than 1200 free meals for the elderly a day.

Those who receive the meals say they don't want to see it end.

" I don't know what i'd do without them. Cause I don't cook I can't cook. I'm too dangerous," says Gracie McNemar.
