Maze and Frankie Beverly return for 2015 Essence festival
NEW ORLEANS - After a six-year absence, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly returns to the 2015 Essence Festival and will close out the Friday, July 3, show in the Superdome.
Since the Essence Festival launched in 1995, Maze had been the festival's closing act. The group was replaced in 2010 with Earth, Wind and Fire who marked 40 years of making music while the magazine marked its 40th anniversary.
Maze quickly became a New Orleans fan favorite by closing out their Essence Festival performance each year with the electric slide anthem, "Before I Let Go."
Their last festival performance was in 2009.
