Mayor plans meeting about trailer where gang rape happened
ROSELAND- The mayor of this small Tangipahoa Parish community told the town council Thursday, she will meet with the pastor who runs the church that shares property with a trailer known as "The Trapper" that was the scene of a gruesome attack on a 13-year-old girl recently.
The teenager was gang raped by a group of six boys police said. Five have been arrested. Tevin Smith is wanted for the attack.
The mayor said after she visited the property before the meeting, she determined it needs to be more secure but not necessarily dismantled. She believes the church uses it for functions and somehow people are able to get inside it late at night.
The property is on Garrick Road.
The mayor said she plans to talk to the pastor of the church this weekend.
