Mayor lashed out over memorial to cop killer
JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY- People who memorialized a man who killed a police officer over the weekend got a tongue-lashing by the mayor of Jersey City.
Lawrence Campbell ambushed officer Melvin Santiago and Campbell's widow says she is sorry for Santiago's family but her husband should have killed more officers if they were planning to kill him.
Campbell was laster killed.
A memorial to him is on display in the neighborhood where he lived.
Mayor Steven Fulop called the memorial and Campbell's widow's comments "disgusting" and "ignorant" saying they aren't representative of the city.
