BATON ROUGE - Mayor Kip Holden said that he is 90 percent sure that he will be running for Louisiana’s 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Holden says that he will decide officially whether or not to run by mid-April.

Currently democrat Cedric Richmond holds the position who was first elected in 2010. The election for that seat will be held on Nov. 8.

Holden previously lost to former Plaquemines Parish president Billy Nungesser for lieutenant governor last November in the runoff election by a 55-45 percent margin.
