Mayor: BRPD Chief announcement Wednesday
BATON ROUGE - Mayor Kip Holden's office said he will announce his selection for the next chief of the Baton Rouge Police Department at a press conference tomorrow morning.
Holden confirmed last week that the three finalists for the position were interim chief Carl Dabadie, Capt. Noel Salamoni, and Capt. Carl Dunn, all currently working for the BRPD.
Holden picked Dabadie as interim chief after firing Dewayne White. Before that Dabadie served as White's chief of staff.
Salamoni currently commands the Special Operations Division and has served on the force for 31 years. Dunn is currently a district commander and has been with BRPD for 29 years.
Holden's office said the announcement will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Metro Council chambers.
