BATON ROUGE- Leadership at the mayor-president's office is changing.

Chief Administrative Officer John Carpenter has resigned. Public Works Director William Daniel has been appointed to the position.

According to a news release from Mayor Kip Holden's office, Carpenter left to "pursue other interests."

Daniel is no stranger to local government; he's served as assistant chief administrative officer and director of public works.

The changes take place August 3, 2012.
